Google Buys Drone Maker Titan Aerospace, Sorry Facebook.
Google, the king of the web has bought Drone Maker Titan Aerospace for an undisclosed sum. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
A Google spokesperson said in a statement: "It's
still early days, but atmospheric satellites could help bring internet
access to millions of people, and help solve other problems, including
disaster relief and environmental damage like deforestation. It's why
we're so excited to welcome Titan Aerospace to the Google family."
Titan's roughly 20 employees will remain in New Mexico, where the company is headquartered, the Wall street Journal
said. The Titan team will reportedly work closely with Google's Project
Loon, a venture that provides Web connections to underserved areas via
high-flying balloons.
Facebook, a month back had a talk to purchase the Titan Aerospace but they didn't lock the deal, so Google played it's move and acquired Titan Aerospace.
